Theme: Overcoming the Opposition

The Jesus Faith and Teaching Ministry has embarked on a five-day prayer and fasting program under the theme “Overcoming the Opposition.” The spiritual gathering, which takes place in the month of October, is designed to strengthen believers’ faith and empower them to overcome challenges through prayer, fasting, and the Word of God.

During the program, Prophet Peter Omari, founder and leader of the ministry, emphasized that fasting is a divine tool that can bring transformation — even in situations that appear impossible, including health and personal struggles.

Citing Matthew 2:1–11 and verses 13–16, Prophet Omari reflected on the story of Joseph and the child Jesus, drawing lessons from how God’s divine guidance protected them from King Herod’s opposition. He encouraged the congregation to remain obedient and trust God’s direction in every season of life.

Prophet Omari further referenced Joel 1:14–17, urging believers to sanctify a fast and gather in unity to cry out to the Lord for mercy. He reminded the church that “those who put their trust in man are cursed, but those who trust in God are blessed.”

In his message from Joel 2:12–13, the Prophet called for genuine repentance and a return to God with sincerity of heart. He said fasting should not only involve abstaining from food, but also a heartfelt turning away from sin and pride.

Drawing inspiration from Jonah 2:1–8, he likened the prophet Jonah’s prayer in the belly of the fish to moments in believers’ lives when all hope seems lost. “When we cry unto God from the depths of our struggles, He hears and delivers us,” Prophet Omari said.

Quoting Psalms 34:5–7 and Psalms 18:2–6, the man of God reminded the congregation that God is their fortress and deliverer. “In times of distress, the Lord hears the cries of His people and sends His angels to deliver them from every form of opposition,” he added.

In conclusion, Prophet Omari admonished Christians to remain steadfast and to resist the devil through continuous prayer, faith, and obedience to the Word of God. He expressed hope that the fasting period would usher in spiritual renewal, divine protection, and breakthrough for all participants.
